A suggestion to make mini-pets "scavangers"
I thought it might be fun to have either old mini-pets modified, or new mini-pets introduced that automatically pick up gold and loot items for you as you progress through the game.
It would just give me a chuckle to see them running around crazily in mid-battle, quietly getting on with their job.

This would rock!
It would actually make them serve a purpose. They take up an inventory spot after all, make them worth it. I've gotten minipets and just sold them all because they're useless, but with this I'd definitely hang on to them.

The picking stuff up idea has been suggested a while back. I remember Gaile commenting on it in one of her chats in a joking way; not that it will ever happen.

I havent had a good laugh in some time but this not only gave me a good chuckle but I think it ay be a good idea. I could just see several mini pets fighting for the gold and goodies.

As long as it only picks up items within your aggro ranged, then /signed.

Would they pick items up for you when you're dead? 'Cause I bet there's some of those 'let you lay dead while I wait for your ecto' monks that would be fairly angry about that.
I think it's a great idea. It doesn't hurt anything, but it would cut down both the amount of time you spend after battle collecting loot, and the amount of people trying to collect loot mid-battle, when they should be fighting.

So we have to play the game for a year (or overpay somebody) to get something that picks up loot for us...? Sounds a bit unfair, to me.

I'd suggest when doing this (or any special feature to a minipet) that they'd make minipets that are easily obtained through quests. If you still want that rare or cool looking minipet, you can still get that one, but it wouldn't give you an advantage over anyone else.
And like mrgoat said, it'd really help against people picking up loot during battle (which is always stupid), and the time you loose with picking up loot afterwards (even though that's not that bad).

Or Cold Damage reduction!
Wait, then Wicked Hats could have Shadow Damage reduction, and Pumpkin Crowns could have Dark Damage reduction... Oh, the possibilities!
